My 7 DAYS active: Tarek Bou

At 7 DAYS Active, we believe an active life is about more than movement — it’s a mindset. Rooted in our core values of BODYMIND, and SOUL, we’re launching “My 7 DAYS Active” — a new monthly series on our social platforms.

We invite our community to share how they stay active throughout the week — from workouts to moments of mindfulness. It’s all about living with intention, balance, and energy, every day.

This month we asked, Tarek Bou, about everything from his workout routine to how he stays motivated to keep moving.

What is your go-to workout/activity?

I'd definitely say climbing and running. I love climbing because every route is a new challenge, and it keeps me fully present in the moment. Running, on the other hand, is my way of clearing my mind. I also enjoy going to the gym because it helps me build strength and supports both sports.

What does your active week look like?

I usually train 4 or 5 times a week, mixing climbing, running, and gym sessions depending on how I feel or what I’m in the mood for that day. On the other days, I focus on resting and recovering because I've learned that recovery is just as important as training.

How do you stay motivated to keep moving every day?

Honestly, I'm not always motivated to work out, and I think that's completely normal. For me, staying active is about much more than training. It's about enjoying my daily routine—working, going for walks, spending time with the people I love, laughing, and being outdoors whenever I can. Exercise is just a natural part of that lifestyle, so most of the time I don't rely on motivation, I just stick to the habits that make me feel good.

What role does being active play in your overall well-being?

It plays a huge role in my life. Being active doesn't just make me feel better physically—it has a big impact on my mental well-being too. After a run or a climbing session, I always feel like I've let go of any stress. It gives me more energy, helps me think more clearly, and puts me in a better mindset for the rest of the day.

Do you prefer to work out alone or together with others—and why?

I honestly enjoy both. Training with friends is always fun because we push each other, have a good time, and share the experience. But I also love training on my own. It's one of the few moments where I can completely disconnect, be with my thoughts, and recharge. In a way, it feels like therapy.

What is your favorite place to be active?

Whenever I can, I choose the outdoors. I love running or climbing surrounded by nature and breathing fresh air. The gym is the only exception because it's the best place to work on my strength, but if I had to choose, I'd always pick being outside.

How do you balance being active with rest and recovery during the week?

I try to listen to my body. I usually train 4 or 5 days a week and leave the rest for recovery. I used to think that training more was always better, but over time I've realized that resting is just as important if you want to stay healthy and keep improving.
