At 7 DAYS Active, we believe an active life is about more than movement — it’s a mindset. Rooted in our core values of BODY, MIND, and SOUL, we’re launching “My 7 DAYS Active” — a new monthly series on our social platforms.
We invite our community to share how they stay active throughout the week — from workouts to moments of mindfulness. It’s all about living with intention, balance, and energy, every day.
This month, we spoke with Anton Carlestam - creator and co-founder of WE.GROUP - about how he stays active during the week
What is your go-to workout/activity?
I often like to start with 20–30 minutes of cardio, whether it’s a short spinning session or an incline run. I feel this warms up the body and gets my heart rate ready for some heavy lifts or circuit simulations. I also love changing the scenery. As shown in MY 7 DAYS, I enjoy boxing, hard cardio, slow cardio, Hyrox simulations, and of course joining diff erent WE.GROUP events.
What does your active week look like?
I typically train around 5–6 times a week, and the activities vary quite a lot: running, cycling, WE.GROUP events (e.g. Hot HIIT), boxing, and Hyrox training. On rest days, I enjoy fi nding balance in life — whether that’s relaxing at home or going out with friends.
How do you stay motivated to keep moving every day?
When starting an active lifestyle, you have to begin slowly, as it can feel tough and the endorphins won’t be as strong in the beginning. But after some time, your body gets used to being active, and it suddenly becomes the norm. For most people who are very active, skipping workouts actually makes them feel worse. So you don’t really need motivation to get up and do it — it becomes more of a necessity. Also, when working on a start-up, being active keeps the mind focused and ready.
What role does being active play in your overall well-being?
Being active is 100% the most important part of my overall well-being. However, for me, it wouldn’t feel as good if I didn’t have the social aspect as well. Seeing friends, going out, and training collectively with WE.GROUP is just as important for my well-being. And again, working many hours every week at odd hours as well, means that stress levels can be high at times, and I feel like getting the heart rate up helps prevent stress to an extent.
Any exciting race plans for this year?
Not right now. I enjoy the freedom of not having anything planned at the moment. A lot of people around me — both in WE.GROUP and in my private life — have an Ironman, marathon, or something else coming up, where training becomes more like “work” instead of something to enjoy. I’m a bit afraid of losing that sense of freedom. That said, I’d love to do another marathon or an Ironman at some point.
Do you have a favorite running route in Copenhagen?
Always Strandvejen. I love running by the water and jumping into the ocean afterwards.
How do you balance being active with rest and recovery during the week?
I make sure to eat plenty of good food and get 8 hours of sleep every night, as well as going to the sauna 1–2 times a week. Whether it actually helps physically or just psychologically, it works for me — and that’s what matters most.
